South Dakota Senators have reinstated one of their own after a brief investigation into a harassment claim.
Republican Sen. Julie Frye-Mueller was suspended from the Senate last week after leadership became aware of an interaction with staff.
A committee investigated the personnel matter and held a four-hour public hearing Tuesday night.
Senators voted 33 to 1 in favor of censuring Frye-Mueller's conduct and simultaneously lifting her suspension. Frye-Mueller is also restricted in working with Legislative Research Council staff and legislative interns and pages for the remainder of the session.
The District 30 Senator returned to chamber Wednesday afternoon.
