South Dakota GOP chair will not seek reelection

Dan Lederman

The chairman of the South Dakota Republican Party said he will not seek reelection.

Dan Lederman has served as the chairman of the GOP State Committee for the last six years.

In that time, Republican voter registration in South Dakota has grown by nearly 50,000.

“I’m proud of our accomplishments,” Lederman said in a statement. “South Dakota Republicans focused on electing strong leaders who brought visionary economic policies that have benefited the families of our great state.”

Lederman declined to comment on why he is not seeking reelection as party chair.

Lederman is also an advisor for LS2group, an Iowa lobbying firm. That group has represented Summit Carbon Solutions, the company behind a proposed C-O-2 pipeline, and Energy Transfer Partners, the operator of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
