Johnson waiting for full Jan. 6 Committee report

Rep. Johnson's office

South Dakota’s lone US Representative said he’s waiting for the final report from committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Rep. Dusty Johnson, R-SD, said he would prefer to read the full report, as opposed to soundbites in the media.

The House committee is investigating former President Donald Trump’s roll in inciting the incident.

Last week, the group unanimously voted in favor of subpoenaing Trump. Johnson said people who are subpoenaed should comply.

“I think anytime anybody’s subpoenaed by a law enforcement agency, or people with subpoena power, I think that’s part of what makes our legal system work. Is that fact finders have the ability to have the information in front of them,” Johnson said

It’s unclear whether former President Trump will comply with the subpoena.

Johnson expects the committee to release it's report by the end of the year.
