Pierre to Peer: A "once in a generation" investment in water projects

This segment is from SDPB's monthly news program, South Dakota Focus.

A key infrastructure issue at play this session is access to quality drinking water. Governor Noem called the recent influx of federal money the chance for a "once in a generation" investment in water projects across the state in her Budget Address last month.

This week Lee Strubinger talked with people working to source water from the Missouri River. Two water management companies and the City of Aberdeen have joined forces as Water Investment in Northern South Dakota or WINS.

We start with the story of how WINS came to be in this installment of Pierre to Peer.

Lee Strubinger is SDPB’s Rapid City-based news and political reporter. A former reporter for Fort Lupton Press (CO) and Colorado Public Radio, Lee holds a master’s in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
