Paul TenHaken announces he is running for re-election as mayor of Sioux Falls.

Paul TenHaken is running to be the mayor of Sioux Falls for another four years. He made the announcement Monday in downtown Sioux Falls.

TenHaken, a Republican, says his experience in business and his last four years as mayor make him the right choice for running Sioux Falls city government.

“So all of this is going to require a steady hand at the wheel, consistency to carry forward what we have done the past three years, and someone who will listen first and speak second," he said. "Someone whose only agenda is Sioux Falls. Someone who wakes up every day thinking how can I make this city better. And for those and numerous other reasons it would be my honor to lead Sioux Falls forward for a second term as mayor for this city.”

TenHaken is Sioux Falls’ 32nd mayor, succeeding former Mayor Mike Huether. He is being challenged by David Zokaites, an activist.

The election is April 12, 2022.
