Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg says he believes some details about his involvement in a fatal pedestrian car crash earlier this year are inaccurate.
Ravnsborg made the statement Monday to reporters following his vote in the electoral college.
In a video posted by Dakota News Now reporter Austin Goss, Ravnsborg says he wants the investigation to run its course.
“We will make a full statement when that has been completed,” Ravnsborg says.
“Do you expect your duties to continue as normal when this is over?” Goss asks.
“Yes, because I believe I have not committed any crime,” Ravnsborg says. “I believe that when we have all the facts, not selective amount of facts come out, we’ll know the full story and we’ll make a full statement.”
State officials say Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg was distracted when he struck and killed a Highmore resident Joseph Boever (Beaver) on the night of September 12th.
But, they declined to say how he was distracted.
The Hyde County state’s attorney is working with investigators to determine whether Ravnsborg should be charged with any crime.
