There is a very real crisis in the world of long-term care, especially in rural settings. However, new federal regulations are being described by some critics as an "unfunded mandate."

An advisory panel to the Black Hills National Forest Service is recommending the agency remove the Mitchell Lake Dam near Hill City. The group says the forest service should replace the 90-year-old lake and dam with a stream.

U.S. Senator Mike Rounds is co-introducing a resolution rejecting arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This comes after the International Criminal Court prosecutor announced he's seeking warrants for Netanyahu, as well as Israel's Defense Minister and three Hamas leaders.

A Memorial Day event more than two years in the making honored fallen veterans distinctively from the traditional parades and 21-gun salutes. The event took place at the VFW Post 1273 in Rapid City.
