On today's update...

There's support in a House committee for a bill that would strengthen existing state law that prohibits foreign ownership of agricultural land.

The state's agricultural organizations are split in their support for carbon pipeline projects. Lawmakers are offering bills this session aimed directly at this issue.

South Dakota's Office of Indian Education (OIE) is not part of the wider Department of Education. For some in native communities, they want their students to have similar standards as public-school students.

A bill requiring permits from the Public Utilities Commission for hydrogen pipelines now heads to Governor Noem's desk.

And more.
