One of the first carbon capture and sequestration pipeline companies to apply in South Dakota has officially canceled their proposed project. Navigator CO2 is dropping the Heartland Greenway project across the entire proposed footprint.

The U.S. House is over two weeks without a Speaker. South Dakota's lone representative says efforts to find a way forward are continuously stymied.

The South Dakota Board of Minerals and Environment is increasing the bond formula on the company that owns the Homestake Mine. The move is designed to cover inflation and increased costs should the state be on the hook to clean up the abandoned mine.

Presentation College has closed, but that's not necessarily the end of the story. The Presentation Sisters — and the city of Aberdeen — are now looking forward to pick up the pieces.
