South Dakota Democrats are removing the party chair after less than six month on the job. Party officials accuse the chair of violating the party constitution and creating a hostile work environment.

Residents in southwest Meade County are fighting an annexation effort by the city of Piedmont — a community of about 1,000 between Rapid City and Sturgis. The area involved includes nine homes, an apartment complex, and five businesses.
