Governor Kristi Noem signed an ag nuisance bill into law at a ceremony at Mitchell-based C & B Operations. House Bill 1090 restricts nuisance claims to property owners or lessees that have real property within one mile of an agricultural operation.

Governor Kristi Noem has signed a bill updating pronoun references to the governor and other officials in the state constitution. House Bill 1175 makes those references gender neutral.

The Mitchell School Board voted unanimously to put a $17 million bond to a public vote. It’s a vote that could mean the difference between the community building a new school or not.

The Mitchell School District has hired Dr. Joe Childs as its new superintendent, effective this week. Childs previously served as principal of Mitchell High School since 2013.

The Pierre-Fort Pierre historic John C. Waldon Memorial Bridge is slowly being replaced by a bridge project that began in November of 2020. The South Dakota Department of Transportation says that the original projected plans were pushed back to the summer of 2024.

Offensive tackle Trey Pipkins agreed to terms on a three-year contract to return to the Los Angeles Chargers. Pipkins was drafted in the third round out of Division II Sioux Falls in 2019.
