Election Day is one week from today. Poll workers and county auditors are preparing ballot locations and responding to questions about election integrity.

Efforts continue to suppress the Palmer Gulch fire, which is burning within the Norbeck Wildlife Preserve, near the Black Elk Wilderness Area. Pleasant weather and moderate fire behavior allowed firefighters to continue to strengthen the lines around the fire.

The National Institutes of Health have granted nearly two-million dollars to a Sanford Health-affiliated researcher. This funding will support research aiming to reduce kidney disease development.

Six school districts in the state will get new electric busses soon. Making it possible is a federal grant aiming to replace older, diesel-powered models focuse reduce fossil fuel emissions.
