On today's update...

Monday is the deadline to register as a South Dakota voter for the upcoming midterm elections. The governorship and two seats in Washington DC, among other positions, are up for vote in November.

The two candidates for South Dakota’s lone seat in the U.S. House differ on two key social issues. The candidates drew those lines in a debate last night.

Republican incumbent Dusty Johnson and Libertarian challenger Collin Duprel agree that meatpackers have too much power over livestock producers. The two candidates shared their similar stance during a debate on SDPB.

Memorial services for former Governor Harvey Wollman will take place Sunday and Monday. A visitation is scheduled from 1-7 p.m. Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home in Huron.

The Lakota People’s Law Project and Standing Rock Sioux Tribe are encouraging Indigenous people to register to vote. The group is hosting a two-day registration drive Saturday and Sunday.

The Black Hills Symphony Orchestra’s next performance is all about celebrating the spooky. “Frankensymphony” debuts this Saturday.

And more.
