Two groups looking to expand Medicaid in South Dakota are joining forces to back one ballot question instead of two. Dakotans for Health and South Dakotans Decide Healthcare will both work to pass a constitutional amendment that expands Medicaid.

South Dakota Democrats picked their candidate in what they hope will be a winnable race for secretary of state but opted not to name a challenger for state attorney general.

Abortion-rights rallies Sunday in Sioux Falls and Rapid City each drew about 200 people. The rallies are in response to a recent U-S Supreme Court decision overturning the constitutional right to an abortion.

A U-S Forest Service draft decision would allow a new drilling project near the Pactola Reservoir in the Black Hills. The proposal is from F-3 Gold in Minneapolis. The company wants to explore for gold just north of the reservoir.

Physicists say the Lux-Zeplin Experiment is now the most sensitive dark matter detector in the world. The experiment is housed at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead.
