A state House committee is targeting a Vermillion School District transgender bathroom policy. The committee endorsed a bill requiring transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that match their sex at birth.

A legislative committee has advanced a bill to add a new method to determine whether agricultural land should be taxed as cropland or ranchland.

The state Health Department says nearly 400 people are still hospitalized in the state with COVID-19, and 13 more South Dakotans have died. However, the number of South Dakotans infected with the disease continues to decline.
