Day one of a House Select Committee on Investigation is starting. It's the first of two days of meetings by the group and most of it is behind closed doors.

South Dakotans earning minimum wage will see a 5.3% pay increase on January 1st. The wage goes up from $9.45 an hour to $9.95 an hour, which is larger than the increase between 2020 and 2021.

A legislative committee is gridlocked on Department of Health law changes that would prevent medication-based abortion, except at licensed facilities. The rule change comes after an executive order from Gov. Kristi Noem earlier this year.

A White House report shows the nation’s largest meatpacking companies are recording massive profits. . Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have been calling attention to the fact that four companies control roughly 80% of beef processing in America.
