On today's show...

We dedicate the hour to "Dakota Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe." The exhibition opens this weekend at the South Dakota Art Museum in Brookings.

Donna Merkt, director of the Museum, discusses the months of planning that went into the exhibition. And she shares the anticipation that's been buzzing around the Museum throughout the preparations.

We revisit a conversation with Kathleen Ash-Milby, the curator of the "Dakota Modern" exhibition. She spoke with Lori Walsh last year when it was on display at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.

Abigail Ramsbottom is the education curator and coordinator at the South Dakota Art Museum. She discusses how the artwork serves as an educational, cultural and community experience.

Plus, Keith BraveHeart dives into Oscar Howe's legacy as an artist, mentor and activist. BraveHeart is a contemporary artist who works with Native American students at the annual Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute at the University of South Dakota.
