On today's In the Moment...

The campaign Stronger Families Together from the South Dakota Department of Social Services has a lofty goal: Recruit 300 new foster families in a year.

Jackie Hendry steps in for Lori Walsh and talks with Jenn and Pete Eekhoff, two longtime foster parents. They discuss the support foster families need to make their work a little easier. So, what can communities do to build stronger families together?

Instead of relying on a rodent to predict the ferocity of the coming winter months, Jackie asks an actual meteorologist on Groundhog Day. She talks to Andrew Kalin from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

South Dakota voters passedan amendment to expand Medicaid last November. Now, some legislators are asking to amend that amendment. Listen in on the debate on HJR 5004.

We'll also take a trip to learn about the small town charms of Miller, South Dakota, with Dakota Life and go on an end-of-the-season stroll with Kevin Woster and his bird dog.

Plus, meet the power couple behind a flagship arts magazine. Stephen and Catherine Thurman combined their talents to create and publish Arts Alive. They're now being honored by the South Dakota Governor's Awards in the Arts with the Charlotte Carver Honorary Award for Outstanding Service to the Arts Community.
