Today, Fresh Tracks has some otherworldly music and sonic adventures for our bold and intrepid listeners. If you like wonderful music that's also totally unique, turn up your volume.
First up is the album “My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross" from Anohni and the Johnsons.
It’s her first album since 2016 and showcases her multi-octave, tremulous voice. She continues her commentaries on social, political and environmental issues through her music.
There is also a new soundscape album from Sigur Rós, an Icelandic band formed in 1994. They may be the most unique band in the world.
They perform ethereal music sung in Icelandic. Their new album “ÁTTA” is a 56-minute sonic journey and is meant to be heard in single sitting.
Finally, Fresh Tracks remembers an icon. They look back at the music and legacy of Tony Bennett.
