The South Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting another round of sobriety checkpoints across the state this month.

There will be 16 checkpoints set up across 15 counties during January. The counties included this month are Aurora, Codington, Edmunds, Fall River, Jackson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Lyman, Marshall, Meade, Minnehaha, Moody, Pennington, Sanborn and Yankton.

The Highway Patrol works with local law enforcement agencies to conduct these checkpoints.

Officials say they’re designed to reduce drunk driving.
