From now to the end of the year, all donations to Feeding South Dakota will double thanks to a $35,000 matching gift from Bill and Carolyn Hinks of Furniture Mart USA.

Stacey Andernacht, the Marketing and Communications Director for Feeding South Dakota, said the gift will allow the organization to make a bigger impact.

“If this match is fully met at $70,000, $35,000 from Bill and Carolyn and $35,000 from our community, that’s 210,000 meals that we can provide through just this campaign alone,” she said. “And that’s very, very impactful for the people we are serving across our state.”

Andernacht said the organization served 20% more families with their food distribution programs. This has impacted the program’s budget.

“So, this match really allows us as an organization to be set up going into the new year to continue that mission work and support our mission through purchased food items,” Andernacht said.

For donations to be matched, they must be submitted before midnight on Dec. 31. To learn more, visit feedingsouthdakota.org.
