The Hubble Space Telescope was launched into low Earth orbit in 1990. With an orbital height of 347 miles it remains a versatile and vital research tool as well as a public relations boon for astronomy. What have we learned since in the 30-plus years since its launch, and what do we hope to learn in the future?
