Google hosts Digital Skills workshops in Sioux Falls

As technology continues to grow in the state, one of the biggest tech companies in the world is helping South Dakota workers get accustomed to digital tech.

Grow with Google hosted Digital Skills Training sessions at the Siouxland Libraries in downtown Sioux Falls.

Katherine Williams is a communication coordinator with Google. She says it’s important for employees in all fields to be in touch with the fast-moving digital world.

"Whether you’re working in something like food production, or something that’s not necessarily in, what we would think of as a traditional tech job, it’s becoming more and more important to have a little bit extra when it comes to how to use the internet, and computer systems in your day-to-day work.”

According to Google’s 2018 Economic Impact Report, 2,000 businesses across the state generated about $152 million in economic activity using Google.

Other area non-profits were introduced to the “Google Partner Program,” a free network for digital training.
