In The Moment ... August 31, 2018 Show 413 Hour 1
If you visit the city of Huron, you see the legacy of Marilyn Hohm Hoyt throughout the community. As a community leader, visionary, and philanthropist, her legacy is at work in less obvious ways across the state of South Dakota.
She's a founding member of the Spirit of Dakota Commission that honors statewide Women Leaders. She's a board member for the South Dakota Community Foundation. She once raised $4 million in six weeks to transform the former Huron College campus into an educational center, city park, and water recreation facility.
She's also a 2018 inductee into the South Dakota Hall of Fame.
The Honors Ceremony is going to be held in Chamberlain/Oacoma, SD on September 7 and 8 and is open to the public.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased on the Hall of Fame website at sdexcellence.org or by calling the Hall at 605-234-4216.
