Remembering The Battle Of The Little Bighorn

In The Moment ... June 25, 2018 Show 365 Hour 1

As we remember the anniversary of The Battle of Greasy Grass, otherwise known as The Battle of the Little Bighorn, historian Donovin Sprague joins In the Moment. He's giving a lecture at The Journey Museum & Learning Center as part of their Learning Forum Series.

Born and raised on the Cheyenne River Reservation, Sprague is a family descendant of both Chief Hump and Crazy Horse. He is currently an adjunct instructor in American Indian Studies at Black Hills State University, tribal archivist, historic tour guide, musician, and contracts with the Smithsonian as a historian, writer, and contributing author. He is the author of 10 books, the most recent being Hump and Crazy Horse, not yet published. In 2015, he received the Distinguished Achievement in Humanities Award from the South Dakota Humanities Council.

Chris is a producer for In the Moment.
