BeThe1SD With Tiffany Wolfgang

In The Moment ... April 25, 2018 Show 323 Hour 2

Since 2004, more than 1,700 lives have been lost to suicide in South Dakota. Those numbers have increased each year, with nearly one in six high school students in South Dakota having suicidal thoughts or tendencies. (That's according to the 2015 Youth Risk Behavior Survey.)

South Dakotans take those numbers personally.

The South Dakota Department of Social Services has developed a suicide awareness and prevention campaign, BeThe1SD, to help decrease the number of suicides in South Dakota.

We're joined today by Tiffany Wolfgang. She's Behavioral Health division director with the South Dakota Department of Social Services.

Chris is a producer for In the Moment.
