In The Moment ... April 17, 2018 Show 317 Hour 1

The Pulitzer Prizes were announced last night. Journalists were recognized for coverage of the Me Too Movement, wildfires in California, and domestic terrorism. Kendrick Lamar made history as the first rapper to win the Pulitzer for music.

And there's author Caroline Fraser, who won the Pulitzer Prize for biography.

The committee lauded Fraser for her "deeply researched and elegantly written portrait" showing how Laura Ingalls Wilder "transformed her family's story of poverty, failure and struggle into an uplifting tale of self-reliance, familial love and perseverance."

Caroline Frazer spoke with Prairie Public's Doug Hamilton in December. He reached her in Iowa City, one of the stops on her book tour.
