On September 8, columnist and newspaper publisher Tim Giago receives the 2017 Native American Journalists Association's Medill Milestone Achievement Award. He's being honored for a lifetime of service to journalism. In 1979, he became the first American Indian voice in South Dakota newspapers. He went on to found the Lakota Times in 1981. It was the first independently owned Native American newspaper in the country. He founded the Native American Journalists Association and served as its first president. In 2009 he founded the Native Sun News. He's also been a columnist for the Huffington Post.

As the field of genetics hurtles forward, we continue to ask questions about the ethics of genetics. Our guest today is Joseph M. Yracheta, with Missouri Breaks Industries Research, Inc. We discuss the challenges and opportunities of precision medicine and the social, legal and ethical impact of the Human Genome Project as it relates to genetic privacy and scientific advancement.
