In the Moment ... August 8, 2017 Show 151 Hour 2

Garrison Keillor brings the Prairie Home Love and Comedy Tour to the Washington Pavilion on Friday, August 11 at 7:30 p.m. Keillor hosted the radio variety show "Prairie Home Companion” from 1974 to 2016 before retiring to spend more time writing. He writes a column for the Washington Post. Host Lori Walsh spent time with Garrison Keillor last week. They talked about writing, radio, and the never-ending delights of the Minnesota State Fair.

At the Denver Comic Con this summer, real scientists included three students and a lecturer from the physics department at the School of Mines and Technology. They wore costumes, diving into the Comic Con environment that includes fans dressed like characters from Star Wars, Star Trek, and superhero fiction. But they gave a presentation titled Shedding Light on Dark Matter & Dark Energy, drawing on their education and expertise working in conjunction with the neutrino lab at Lead. SDPB's Victoria Wicks sat down with three of the School of Mines presenters to talk about art imitating life, and life imitating art.
