Mads Tolling is one of the top violinists on today's jazz scene. He spent nearly a decade with both the Turtle Island String Quartet and bassist Stanley Clarke's band before forming his own groups. His latest band, Mads Tolling and the Mads Men, has just released A new album, "Playing the 60s." It's a collection of jazz arrangements of American popular music from the 1960s, including theme songs from television shows like "Hawaii 5-0" and "The Flintstones."

Glenn Willmott.  Willmott presents "The Politics of Reading for Wonder" today at 4:00 p.m. at Farber Hall Old Main on the University of South Dakota campus.  The Department of English welcomes Glenn Willmott, Ph.D., Professor in English and Cultural Studies at Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario). Willmott studies and teaches primarily in the areas of Modernisms and Comics. He has published books on Marshall McLuhan, Canadian fiction, Primitivism and gift economies, and most recently, Modern Animalism: "Habitats of Scarcity and Wealth in Comics and Literature" (2012). His current work-in-progress is entitled "Reading for Wonder: Empathy, Ecology, Ethics, Enchantment."
