Riis has been named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year for 2016 for his collaborative workdocumenting elk Migration in Greater Yellowstone.
Riis sits down with Dakota Midday host Lori Walsh explain why immersion is critical in photographing migration, his upcoming exhibit, film, and book, and the South Dakota photography projects he is inspired to pursue.
