Central States Fair Opens For Business
This Central States Fair is in full swing this week in Rapid City. This year marks the fair's 70th anniversary with the theme 70 years of Food on a Stick.
The opening of the Central States Fair was marked by a ribbon cutting on Friday. Ron Jefferies is the General Manager. He says there’s a variety of food offered. Jefferies adds the fair features activities for all ages that showcases the fair's history.
“We’re very excited to bring a wide variety of activates from the original Range Days Rodeo that started in 1923 and to the original start of the fair 70 years ago which included carnivals, all kinds of open class exhibits with ceramics and wood work heating and leather work and things like that. To live stock shows, horse shows, a ranch rodeo and of course now we have some great concerts for part of the Black Hills Power Concert series as well,” says Jefferies.
The Central States Fair is open thru Sunday, August 23.
