A group that raised $125,000 to celebrate the state’s 125 anniversary has now distributed the money to 17 South Dakota organizations.
Nearly 80 groups applied for funding from 34 communities across South Dakota. The grants were kept at a maximum cap of to $10,000. The smallest grant given totaled $875.
A team of South Dakotan’s who volunteered for the fundraising effort came together to choose the final grant winners.
