Stace Nelson Plans Break From Politics

State Representative Stace Nelson lost to Mike Rounds and three others in the Republican Primary race. Nelson came away with only 17-percent of the votes in the race for a seat in the U.S. Senate compared to Rounds’ 58-percent.

Nelson says he and his team ran a hard race but after losing in the Primary he plans to take a break from South Dakota politics.

“My immediate concerns are to getting back to being a better father and better husband and a better grandpa. I’ve got fence to fix and I’m going to enjoy the fruits of my labor and we’ll take a hard look at it but for right now we’ll see what the future holds,” says Nelson.

Nelson says after spending the last ten months on the campaign trail, he owes his grandsons a trip to the zoo. Nelson says he also has another grandson on the way.
