SDSU Women Travel To Texas For WNIT Semi Finals

South Dakota State University

The South Dakota State women's basketball team is traveling to Texas for the semi finals of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

The SDSU Jackrabbits are set to play the University of Texas El Paso or UTEP on Wednesday night at 8 pm in El Paso at the Don Haskins Center. UTEP defeated the University of Washington on Monday night 70-63, setting this match up.

SDSU had a disappointing end to their season by losing out in the Summit League tournament, and missing an automatic bid to the big dance for the first time in five years. They were then given an invite to the WNIT tournament and SDSU has been on a role ever since, winning their last four games.

The Jackrabbits are 5 -4 all time against C-USA teams, but this is their first ever meeting against the University of Texas El Paso. The winner of this game advances to the WNIT championship game, scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
