Tickets On Sale For NBA Exhibition Game

Tickets are now on sale for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks game on October 10 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. This game could have a big impact on the community of Sioux Falls in more ways then one.

The Sanford Pentagon is scheduled to open in September but the first big event at the venue is the NBA exhibition game with the Minnesota Timberwolves hosting the Milwaukee Bucks. Eric Larsen is the General Manager of the Sanford Sports Complex. He says this is a very exciting time for Sanford, the community of Sioux Falls and sports fans.

"It’s part of our grand opening celebration. We have a month long celebration. We wanted to do something very special in Sioux Falls and bring something to town that would be extra special sporting wise and we think we’ve done that with the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves have obviously been here before but the venue that they’ll be playing in will be quiet different then were people have seen them before," Larsen says.

This May, news broke putting a little bit of a local twist on this game. South Dakota State stand out and graduate Nate Wolters is now a member of the Milwaukee Bucks after the 2013 NBA draft. Larsen says Wolters playing this close to SDSU is great.

"We couldn’t have been more pleased after the NBA draft when he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. It certainly raised the demand for tickets for this game. It didn’t change any pricing or anything like that, we were set well before that on where we were going to be," Larsen says.

Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether is also excited about the opening of the Sanford Pentagon. He says venues like this are only going to improve the quality of entertainment in the city.

"This is truly gonna be one of those events that we’ll remember and  I just hope that Nate hits more then he misses but even if he misses who cares…this is the big time," Mayor Huether says.

Tickets are still available for this grand opening event on Ticketmaster. Eric Larsen with Sanford says 60 percent of tickets sold out within the first three hours of sale. The game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Minnesota Timberwolves is scheduled for Thursday October 10 with a 7:05 tip off.
