Senate Committee Reappoints Craig D. Johnson

The Senate State Affairs Committee confirmed the reappointment of Brigadier General Craig D. Johnson to Assistant Adjutant General of the Army on Wednesday. Johnson has an extensive military background. He has been with the National Guard since 1976. He served in Iraq in 2003 with the 109th Engineer Battalion.

Johnson spoke on his own behalf. He says his experience and leadership skills make him the best candidate for the position.

“Thirty six years in the National Guard has meant a lot to me and my family.  I have had the honor to serve on several state active duty missions, all being in the National Guard, and those were probably some of the most meaningful and important times in my life,” says Johnson.

Johnson comes from a military family. His father retired as a World War Two veteran. His brother is a retired Captain. Duties of the Assistant Adjutant General of the Army include strategic planning, troop preparation, and support for mobilization of more than three thousand Army National Guard soldiers.
