Snow Storm Good For Skiiers

Snow is piling up across the Northern Hills. A storm blew through last night and blanketed the Lead area with more than six inches of new powder.  The storm ended late Thursday morning.  Terry Peak Ski area officials say although temperatures are sub-zero, conditions are favorable for skiiers.

Linda Derosier is the Marketing Director for Terry Peak in Lead.  She says recent winter weather is providing for knee-deep amounts on the slope.

“Well over the past three days we have received approximately thirteen to fifteen inches of snow,” says Derosier.

Derosier says Terry Peak has struggled lately with warm temperatures and the mild weather hampers their snow-making abilities.  She says not all runs are open on the hill, but colder temperatures over the last two days are helping overall ski conditions.  Skiiers are encouraged to bundle up because temperatures are expected to peak in the teens today and below-zero windchills are forecasted.
