Members of South Dakota college rodeo teams are practicing for next week’s college national finals.
South Dakota State University qualified 10 team members. Nine qualified from Black Hills State University, two from Mitchell Technical College and two from the University of South Dakota.
SDSU senior Jacey Hupp was named the Great Plains Region goat-tying champion earlier this year. Her horse French Fry was awarded horse of the year. Hupp is excited to see how her teammates compete.
“Oh I think we’ll be pretty competitive team-wise. I think we could really do some damage. We got some very talented girls going out this year -- probably one of the best teams we’ve sent out in a while.”
The rodeo runs all next week in Casper, Wyoming.
