Sioux Falls marching band selected as finalist in Bands of America Super Regional
The Sioux Falls Lincoln High School Patriot Marching Band was named a finalist last weekend in the Bands of America Super Regional marching competition in St. Louis.
The Super Regional is one of the largest and most competitive marching competitions in the country.
The Patriots' 179-member band placed second in its class and 11th out of 58 competing bands from 12 states.
The band's show, titled “Queen’s Gambit,” turns the football field into a giant chessboard.
This weekend will be the last opportunity to hear the band perform its award-winning show at the Indoor Marching Concert and Silent Auction at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Tickets are available at the door for $15. Proceeds from the show benefit the students and band.
