The 2025 SDHSAA state boys basketball tournaments began on Thursday, March 20, from Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Aberdeen.Here are the quarterfinal results.

For a lot of basketball fans in South Dakota, state tournaments are a three-day festival in the host city. But for Mike and Terri Mebius, their state tournament experience in 2025 has turned into a road trip. The duo has three grandsons playing in the state tournament this week. Three different schools, three different classes, and three different tournaments.

SDPB caught up with the 10 seniors who proudly led the Rangers and the Hill City community to their first-ever boys state tournament appearance.

For the first time in 26-years, the Freeman Flyers are back at the state boys' basketball tournament. With a 19-4 record on the year, and just three seniors listed on the programs roster, it’s a unit that has Flyers fans excited for basketball once again.
