Where you live shouldn't determine how you fight cancer. The Walking Forward program seeks to mend cancer disparities in South Dakota.

Daniel Petereit, M.D., is a radiation oncologist at the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute in Rapid City.

He noticed that many of his Native American patients were getting diagnosed with more advanced cancers. He embarked on a journey to find out why and learn how to change that.

His Walking Forward program provides education to empower patients and communities to take action. He joins In the Moment to discuss the program's goals.
