This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

A national supply chain shortage is affecting access to certain chemotherapy drugs. Two local experts from Avera Health join In the Moment to break down how they plan to manage a shortage if—or when—it hits home.

Luis Rojas, M.D., is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist at Avera. Emily Laible is a pharmacy supervisor at Avera's Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Center.

They discuss the causes of the shortage, who it's impacting and how they're helping patients get the medications they need.

Jackie Hendry is a special correspondent with SDPB based in Sioux Falls. Her coverage interests include the many ways public policy impacts child welfare, elder care, health and education.
