The United States Department of Agriculture commits millions of dollars toward renewable energy and domestic fertilizer projects.

The majority of the grant money stems from the Federal Inflation Reduction Act.

South Dakota is estimated to receive just over $3 million of that funding.

The USDA outlined ten projects planned for South Dakota under the Rural Development loans and grants program.

Examples include installation of a grain dyer near Cavour, a 20-loop geothermal heat pump system near Bath and a refrigeration system in Meade.

A comprehensive list of projects planned for South Dakota can be found here.
