The city of Sioux Falls is hosting its annual Big Sioux River Greenway Cleanup event on Saturday.
Volunteers have removed thousands of pounds of trash from the river at past cleanups.
Designated meeting places along the river include the following: Dunham Park, Elmen Park Trailhead Shelter, Falls Park West Shelter, Cherry Rock Park Shelter, Legacy Park Tent Station, Pasley Park Shelter, Sertoma Park Shelter and Spencer Park Shelter.
Equipment such as gloves and trash bags will be provided at the event.
Cleaning will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration for the event is available, but it’s not required.
