A new program will increase funding for teacher preparation in the state.
The University of South Dakota School of Education is one of the state’s universities to receive funding from Start Today SD and the U.S. Department of Labor and Regulation. That funding supports USD's new Teacher Fellows Registered Apprenticeship Program.
Jackie Wilber is the director of the Center for Student & Professional Services at USD's School of Education. She discusses the teacher shortage and how more funding will help her university better prepare teachers before they step to the front of a classroom.
