Starting this fall, Mount Marty University will offer a Master of Science in Biotechnology degree program.

The new program makes the university the first and only school in South Dakota to over the academic discipline, according to a press release from the school.

Mark Brown, Ph.D., is the director of the graduate program. Brown has almost 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biomanufacturing industries. He was originally hired by the university to design the program.
Mount Marty is encouraging individuals with a background in science and business are encouraged to apply. The fall’s course list is occupied by individuals ranging from recent undergraduates to industry executives across the U.S.

Each accepted graduate student has the opportunity to attend in-person at the Sioux Falls Mount Marty University campus or online.

“This gives us an opportunity to have very real conversations among differing opinions in the industry, and I think that's important for all our students," said Brown.
