An education association's review of the 2023 legislative session

My project-1 (11).png

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

From teacher pay to increased consequences for assaulting school employees to revised social studies standards, there were many education bills proposed this year. Those bills would impact students and classrooms across the state.

The South Dakota Education Association (SDEA) gives educators a voice in the state legislature.

Sandra Waltman, communications director of the SDEA, joined In the Moment to discuss the bills her organization supported and opposed this session.

Lori Walsh is the host and senior producer of In the Moment.
