A Michigan man has been sentenced in connection to a case where a body was found at a Mitchell gas station.

Sixty-year-old Anthony Harris faces one year in Davison County Jail after he pleaded guilty to one count of improper disposal of a body, according to the South Dakota Attorney General's Office.

Harris was arrested after a woman’s body was found at the Mitchell I-90 Travel Center on March 11. He was charged with second-degree murder and improper disposal of a body.

The attorney general's office said an autopsy found she died of an accidental drug dose which occurred outside of South Dakota. Investigators also determined blunt force injuries found on the victim's body were caused when she was run over at the truck stop after she had already died. The state ended up dropping the more serious second-degree murder charge.

Authorities said Harris could face additional charges in the state of Michigan.
