Authorities in Aberdeen are investigating a shooting that left one person dead.
A male was shot Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the YMCA, according to the Aberdeen Police Department. He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigators said the person who fired the gunshot was still on scene when law enforcement arrived. That individual is in custody.
The shooting is still under investigation, but police said it appears to be an isolated incident and was unrelated to the YMCA.
The Avera St. Lukes Hospital campus, which is near the YMCA, was put on temporary lockdown "out of an abundance of caution," police said.
